I just took a walk down memory lane....
For the first time in ages I checked out my MSU email account. I have had all of my emails forwarded to my hotmail account since 1998...
I want to say thanks to everyone here for making the internet a great place to be. While some of us have grown a bit distant and our relationships have changed, you all hold a special place in my life.
I will not post any of the emails, they are too personal, but they made me smile and gave me warm fuzzies.

Oh, sorry. Emeryville is a eye-blink between Oakland and Berkeley. Chiron is a vaccine and blood-testing company. And, contrary to my earlier "...I would know", there is a vivarium here. So, they do have animals here for testing, but they're very quiet about it (Duh!). Apparently some of the technicians won't work in that area for personal reasons...which is how our group found that it existed. An animal rights extremist group has claimed responsibility for the blasts, and security has been notched up around here. No one was hurt, and work resumed at 12 noon that day.
Took another motorcycle trip this long weekend. Actually took Tuesday off as well. Rode up the coast of Calif. Saturday with 7 other "enthusiasts", across to the middle of the state and north just across the Oregon border Sunday, where I left the group and continued on to Tualatin, Ore. (South of Portland). That's where Erin, my younger daughter is currently living (such as it is, but hey...I'm her dad). Also got to meet my second granddaughter up in Vancover, WA. along with my oldest daughter, Sara. Then, Tuesday, left at 9:45 for home, arriving at 9:30. (No, no...left in AM, arrived in PM. Nice thought, though). Long ride...wonderful ride. (Well, except for the long, straight, boring sections of I-5, that is.) 1600 miles in four days, and I'm a little tired, but hey, I did it. Now I just have to rest for a week. FYI: MERLE has his filters back up so he will not be posting here again for a while, if at all.
